The mind of an entrepreneur is that of a visionary, someone with a dream or a view of what can be better. Entrepreneurs have passions, ideas, and insights about what’s missing - things people need. They desire to serve, to use their gifts and talents. Owning your business opens the door to having more freedom. There is no ceiling on how much money you can make. You can take time off for family or vacations without asking permission. No one can fire you or lay you off. You can do something you love and build your own security. There are mindset shifts that have to happen every step of the way in business. Don’t work on your business when you are in a bad mood. Only work on it when you have positive energy. You want to create something powerful, so put good energy into it. Every time you catch yourself thinking something negative about yourself or your ability to succeed, write it down and turn the thought around to a positive affirmation about yourself. Then repeat the positive thought until you believe it. We grow so much personally when our business success depends upon us.

Create a Business from Your Idea

Begin by creating a side hustle, a business you work on in your free time. A side hustle removes the fear and pressure of having to support yourself right away. In today’s economy you can do most of your business online. You’ll create your brand look and use social media and your website to promote your business and sell your products or services. 

You can build a free website at WIX, SquareSpace or GoDaddy, but it will have their name in the address until you attach your business domain name. Before you settle on your business name, search Google to be sure no one else has it. If not, then go to Go Daddy to buy your business name.com. Your website host will have directions on how to attach it to your website. Congrats on opening your business! 

What It Will Take to Succeed

In the beginning before you get clients and customers, you’ll need to market your business all the time. This lets people know who you are and what you do. Consistency is important for your brand visibility. You can’t get clients if people don’t know you exist. Create videos, pictures, blogs, and content to showcase who you are and what you offer. To ease the pressure of selling yourself, focus on the benefits and results your customers will experience. Most people consume social media alone so speak in videos as if you are talking one to one with an ideal client. 

Talk to people about your business. Connect with them. Network with other business owners. Attend networking events online. Ask questions of every business owner you meet. How did they get started? What advice do they have for you? (People love talking about themselves, and passing their wisdom forward, so everyone will welcome these questions.) Find and choose a mentor to help you solve problems and create abundance. All successful entrepreneurs have a support team.

The world needs your positive contributions. Make the change you desire. Whatever you feel passionate about is a great place to start. What you love becomes what you offer in business. To your freedom and success!
